When Vistage Chair Paul Johnson was looking for a venue to hold a meeting for his group, he had a number of requirements in mind.
“Our meetings are a special day in the busy lives of my members, so I’m always looking for a venue with impact, that is a wow for my guests, with all the convenience that I need as the meeting organiser,” Paul said”.
The location has to have a large meeting room as well as plenty of space for break-out sessions; it had to have technology, needed to run any successful business meeting, available; it had to be secure and quiet to enable his guests to feel comfortable and concentrate on the matter at hand; it had to have plenty of parking spaces; it had to deliver first-class catering and refreshments and it has to offer loads of natural light, and a pleasant ambience.
Vistage is a world-wide peer-to-peer membership organisation for leaders of small-to-mid-size businesses that offers members the chance to work with their peers to share best practice and receive advice and guidance from like-minded professionals. Paul was keen to ensure the venue he chose offered the professional service his group is accustomed to.
He contacted BB4 Hospitality and chose to hold his meeting at the group’s Ferry House Inn, which is located on the shoreline in the Isle of Sheppey, just an hour’s commute from London.
Paul visited the venue the evening before his meeting, to set up the room to his specifications, and to ensure all was prepared. He was greeted by a member of Inn’s team who was allocated as his core point of contact.
“My contact remained constant throughout the booking process, the preparation and the day of the event which made the organisation run smoothly. I did not need to keep re-communicating anything, which can sometimes be an issue with venues,” Paul said.
“On the day of the event I arrived early and was pleased to find my contact there and ready to deliver everything I needed. The team at The Ferry House Inn had paid attention to my needs in advance so the set up and the event as a whole, ran as smoothly as it could have,” he added.
The day in itself consisted of meetings and breakout sessions with refreshment provided at allocated times. The public areas around the conference room served as an excellent place for members to network, and for some team building exercises, against the backdrop of the Swale estuary, with East Kent in the background.
“I cannot find fault with the level of service delivered and I’m confident in saying it was better, and more personable than the service I have received from many five-star venues in London. The whole process was elegantly handled with excellent catering and an atmosphere which was comfortable and relaxed, yet formal enough for a business meeting. The stunning views from the meeting room also helped make the day,” Paul said.
“Myself and my group felt extremely well looked after and had a great experience which was above my expectations. The venue is a well-kept secret and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a corporate hospitality event that is a little different from the norm.” he added.
He has now used the services of BB4 Hospitality four times with plans to come back in the near future.
“I have also used BB4 Hospitality’s Mocketts Farm Cottages which are idea for more intimate or even one to one meetings, and the accommodation available can set a group up for a really relaxed retreat” Paul said.
